Summer looked like this...

I'm so fortunate to have moved to such a beautiful part of the world. Summer was all about settling in and enjoying the little sun that Spokane had to offer :( Spending summers out on a lake is such an American kid thing to do, they are nothing like the Aussie summers of lazing around the beach and finding creative ways to keep cool.

In the winter, this lake freezes over and people around here have been telling me that you can walk/skate on it... ummm - I'll pass thanks... It's been bitterly cold these past few weeks, I want the weather to stop teasing me and for it to snow already!

What does a girl wear in the snow anyway? Thermals under everything? Ugly snow boots 24/7? Thanks to my short stint in Whistler, I learned that alcohol warms your blood but beyond that I am stumped. Also, being drunk all hours of the day probably won't reflect well on me at work. Looking to fashion magazines also doesn't help - unfortunately a 'Sexy Snow Gear' editorial will never make it to the pages of Vogue or even Teen Vogue for that matter. Ahh, the perils of a Sydney sider moving to the freezing Northwest of America. Help?
